Visas
Who needs a visa?
Please review the official table of countries requiring visas to enter Argentina. In case you need a visa, keep reading…
Different kinds of visa
There are different visa categories for entering Argentina:
- Tourist visas
- Conference visas
- Trade fairs and market research visas
Do note that all visas require an interview at an Argentinian embassy or consulate; check the official list to find the most convenient for your geographical location.
Some DebConf attendees do not qualify for a conference visa (i.e. those without a permanent business/work activity); tourist visas should pose no problems, particularly given that no money exchange is to take place (i.e. DebConf will not pay speakers for their participation).
Obtaining a tourist visa
You can check the requirements for obtaining a tourist visa; we provide a translation as a convenience, but please check against the official requirements page.
-
A valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining from the date of entry into the country, and at least one blank page (two sides).
-
Two (2) recent 4x4 cm color photographs, front-facing, with a white background.
-
A completed visa application form (preferably electronically) signed by the applicant. You can download it here (editable PDF).
-
Proof of economic sufficiency (for example, recent work pay receipts, recent credit card statement, or recent bank statement).
-

-

Obtaining a conference visa
you can check the requirements for obtaining a conference visa. Again, we provide a translation of the information on the referred Web page for convenience, but only said page is taken as authoritative.
If you will be participating in a conference, and your stay will be no longer than 30 days, you can request for a conference visa. The requirements are as follow:
-
A valid passport with at least six months of validity remaining from the date of entry into the country, and at least one blank page (two sides), or one of the documents listed in Annex I of the Agreement on Travel and Return Documents of the Mercosur Member States and Associated States (DC-46-2015-CMC), valid and current.
-
Two (2) recent 4x4cm color photographs, front-facing, with a white background.
-
A completed FSV visa application form (preferably electronically) signed by the applicant.
-
A letter of invitation prepared by the inviter, duly registered in the National Registry of Foreign Applicants (RENURE). There are several details the inviter must take care of; rest assured that invitation letters sent by DebConf will follow said requirements.
-
Proof of business/work activity in the country of origin (for example, proof of employment with a company member).
-
Round-trip flight reservation (it is recommended not to purchase tickets until the visa has been granted).
