The “Jesuit Block: Pope Francis’s Time in the City of Santa Fe” tourist circuit is a joint project of the City Council, the Municipality, and the Immaculate Conception School.

Its main objective is to highlight the city’s cultural and historical heritage. To this end, the project aims to develop a tourist attraction encompassing the Jesuit Block, which includes the Museum, the School, and the Church of the Immaculate Conception, emphasizing the figure of Jorge Bergoglio and his time in the city to continue his Jesuit formation as a junior teacher and professor of language and literature between 1964 and 1965.

This tour was inaugurated in 2014 and has since attracted hundreds of visitors and residents of Santa Fe interested in learning about the work of the Society of Jesus in the region and about Jorge Bergoglio’s time in the provincial capital as a junior teacher at the School.

This unique exhibit features special signage identifying each of the representative locations; and five themed islands that can be explored with guides, testimonial videos from former students, and information about the history of the Jesuit block in general.
