Steve has been around in the Debian project for **way** too many years to think about, doing a wide range of things and often making mistakes like volunteering for too many teams!
He's here to talk about images, the Community Team, and (maybe!) a bit of Secure Boot too.
Accepted Talks:
Community Team BoF
Come and meet the Debian Community Team - hear what we do, ask us questions, discuss how to live in the world of Debian.
Secure Boot: security, tooling and the future
UEFI Secure Boot can solve real security issues for people.
I’ll talk through some of the background on how things work, both technically and administratively. I’ll cover some of the issue we’re facing, and some of the plans for the future.
I’ll also talk about some of the more recent events, particularly CA key rotation and how this might affect people and their systems.
Images team BoF
The image team produce a lot of different images for Debian:
- Installer images for all architectures
- Live image for a lot of desktops on amd64 only (so far)
We’d like to discuss the current setup with interested people, and plan for the future.
- Which desktops should we be building live images for?
- We want to work with the desktop teams more
- How long is BIOS boot going to be a thing?
- How can we do a better job of supporting new architectures?
- Building live images for all arches?
- How can we better support our users?
- etc.
Please come along and talk to us!
